this day was hot and sunny.
I left the cafe feeling bilious.
I walked home a short way.
I was breathless.
I went through my front door.
Everything was spinning.
I was trembling, then really shaking.
I swallowed spoonfuls of organic honey.
It was a birthday gift.
I must unlock the door.
I must call the ambulance.
Where's my phone?
Was this life gone?
Nearly 4 hours later, I was far out,
the summer heat was all around.
I did not move at all.
But, then I saw the light
was a dazzling bright rainbow bridge.
I knew, I too, was across the bed.
Alive, but feeling spaced.
The anaphylactic shock
lifted me into a surreal place.
I kept saying to myself:
"Oh thank you God, thank you God
Bless your kind heart.
Bless your kind heart."
