Beauty To Share

The thrill of finding you
after wandering through
the gardens of green in a day of extreme cold.

I spoke to a man with a map in his hand
and still, it was a while
until I saw the path I missed before.

Oh wow!
There you stood as a beautiful sight to see,

a place ahead of me
reflecting from within,
protecting from the wind.

I went indoors but it was not warm
and Crown-of-thorns were flowering.
Not what I expected to see
but following me
was the young traveller and he too was pleased
discovering Madagascar
from olden times gone by
a beauty under southern skies.

So on Winter Solstice day,
I said farewell and was led to pass

Madagascar's red Poinsettia tree
blooming gloriously
Poinsettia, Christmas flower tree
I was walking in Adelaide Botanic Gardens, South Australia

Close Up

Remember when
you dressed my wounds
and told me then
you would always love
our times together
but that was never
what it seemed
as you were always
leaving.

And returning
but not really here.
You were bleeding
all over the place
and never facing
what was true,
never being the real you.

Sometimes you still
    call in
    to see
what is going on with me.

Here today is my plea.
Hear me.
Stay a while
and listen
to my heart beat
come in closer
and really meet
Trust
Honesty
Tolerance
Gentleness

What Joy that would be
defenselessness for me to see,
generosity to give away
all you value here
and patience now and for all time,
faithfulness and an open mind.

If every word was ever heard
Love would sing
and light would bring
a truly wondrous way to be
living with simplicity.

Viola and The Violets

Pure grace
sits with each shy flower
she sings a song to light the sky
the violet crown opens wide
and all the love for deep inside
is with you.

The quiet times
low to the ground
are where the petals softly seek
to find some Ones
and lift their hearts
higher than they feel within
but true to all who see
their beauty in the green
whose weeping tears are not unseen
but are rising now to form light mist
for all those missing being kissed.

I live with the violets.
Always did and ever will.
They call to me,
they help me grieve
what I know and do perceive
for violet paths are lined with hearts.

Each Shining Moment With You

"Were it possible to see further
than our knowledge reaches,
perhaps
 we would endure our sadnesses
with greater confidence than our joys.
For they are moments
 when something new
has entered into us,
something unknown;
our feeling grows mute in shy perplexity,
everything in us withdraws,
a stillness comes,
and the new,
which no one knows,
stands in the midst of it and is silent."

- Rainer Maria Rilke -
